Meet Jane

Jane is the founder of Illuminey Body.

After 20 years as a television executive, Jane dropped out of the corporate world and began helping clients realize the benefits of movement as a healing tool. She brings the focus and creativity of her business career to her teaching, challenging clients to think about movement in a new way and empowering them to understand their bodies and take charge of their wellness.

With Illuminey Body, Jane sought to make this type of practice more accessible. She wanted to provide the convenience of online sessions with the expertise and personalization usually only available in a studio setting.

"After seeing how Pilates could help me control chronic pain issues and maintain strength and mobility as I age, I want to help others experience that empowerment.”

Jane received her certification from the Kane School for Core Integration, known for its focus on biomechanics and a clinical perspective of the body. She has extensive study in specialized areas, including:

  • Functional Anatomy for Movement and Injury - spine, shoulder, aging

  • Common Hip Pathologies with Jeremy Laverdure, DPT and Cara Reeser

  • Tom Myers’ Anatomy Trains - study of the myofascial meridians

  • Neuroscience of Mindbody Therapy with Dr. Christine Caldwell

Jane also trains future Pilates teachers at the Kane School of Core Integration

Meet Amy

Amy is a certified Pilates instructor and a certified holistic health coach.

She struggled for many years with chronic hip pain, skin ailments and general fatigue. The everyday stress of a busy schedule and the physical stress on her joints caused by past sports related injuries, poor body mechanics in my workout routines and a genetic predisposition to osteoarthritis, eventually led to a total hip replacement.

A combination of Pilates, physical therapy, stress management techniques and nutrition has helped her to successfully manage chronic pain and to thrive and feel strong while maintaining a very active lifestyle. It also led to her Pilates certification through the Kane School for Core Integration.

“My experience inspired me to help others to work through injury and to maintain wellness.”

Each person is unique in their journey. Amy’s approach is holistic, incorporating all the modalities she’s studied and that have worked so well for her.
